MOON SHINES DOWN UPON YOU (c) James WF Roberts

MOON SHINES DOWN UPON YOU
(c) James WF Roberts

Moon shines down upon
the body of the ground
moon shines down
I see that look in your eye
asking me why—I have to leave
Can’t you see
all eternity
re-born,
waxing
dying

Moonbeams
illuminate the darkness
that is my heart
my soul’s burning tonight
we kiss in the shadows
we drink-in the moonlight
until all our sorrows retreat
All our sorrows retreat
back into the nothingness
back into the void—the bliss

You tell me,
“look at the moon tonight,
it’s so beautiful. Look at the moon
tonight—it looks so near…”
All our sorrows retreat
back into the shadows
all of our sorrows retreat
back into oblivion
Don’t say a word anymore
don’t speak
don’t think
don’t move

Just stand here with me now
under the light of the moon…
